Tour Description: Gently float downwards the pristine, crystal clear waters of the Sibun River in lightweight Townsend canoes. The Sibun River emerges from high up in the Maya Mountains of Belize and is one of nature’s best kept secrets. Paddling down this mid-reach stretch of the Sibun River creates a fantastic opportunity to admire the spectacular riparian forest, decorated with impressive Fig and Ceiba Trees, loaded with mesmerizing bromeliads and orchids, noisy howlers and shy iguanas. Encounter a myriad of birds and occasionally spot a river otter, a Morelet's Crocodile or a Tapir enjoying a cool bath. Safety is guaranteed by using class 3 life vests, strapped-on footwear or water shoes, and experienced river guides trained in swift water rescue.
